UNIMART AFRICA
Seller Terms
These Seller Terms apply when you list or sell products on UNIMART AFRICA. They supplement our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Acceptable Use Policy. By creating a seller profile or publishing a product listing, you agree to these Seller Terms.
1. Who these terms cover
You are a “Seller” if you offer physical or digital products for sale through UNIMART, whether as a student entrepreneur, campus business, or approved vendor. Service-only offerings are covered by our Service Provider Terms.
2. Listings
- Listings must accurately describe the product, condition, price, stock, campus availability, and delivery or pickup options.
- Photos and media must show the actual product (or a faithful representation you are authorized to use).
- You must have the legal right to sell the items you list.
- Do not list prohibited, counterfeit, stolen, or unsafe goods (see Community Guidelines).
- Keep stock and availability updated; remove or pause listings you cannot fulfill.
3. Pricing
- Display prices clearly in the currency shown on the listing.
- Do not advertise a price you do not intend to honor for the stated item and quantity.
- Any platform fees, boosts, or commissions (if applicable) will be disclosed before you confirm a paid feature or charge.
- Taxes, delivery fees, or other charges that buyers must pay should be stated upfront where reasonably possible.
4. Orders
- When a buyer places an order, you are responsible for confirming, preparing, and fulfilling it according to the listing and any messages you exchange.
- Communicate promptly if there will be a delay, substitution, or cancellation.
- Do not accept orders you know you cannot fulfill.
- Payment may be processed through UNIMART-supported methods or other channels we enable; follow the instructions shown at checkout.
5. Fulfillment
- Deliver or make items available for pickup within the timeframe you advertise (or a reasonable campus timeframe if none is stated).
- Package items appropriately and meet buyers at agreed safe locations when using campus pickup.
- If you use peer delivery or third-party logistics, you remain responsible for the buyer experience unless we expressly state otherwise.
- Mark orders as fulfilled only when the buyer has received the product or you have completed the agreed handoff.
6. Refunds and cancellations
- State your refund or exchange policy clearly where the Platform allows, or communicate it before payment when asked.
- If an item is not as described, defective (beyond disclosed condition), or never delivered, you should offer a fair remedy (refund, replacement, or repair) consistent with applicable law and campus norms.
- UNIMART may facilitate communication or, at our discretion, help resolve disputes, but we are not the seller of record unless we expressly say so.
- Chargebacks or payment disputes may lead to investigation and account action if abuse is found.
7. Reviews and reputation
Buyers may leave reviews based on real transactions. Do not coerce, fake, or bribe reviews. Do not retaliate against honest negative feedback with harassment or false reports.
8. Violations and enforcement
Violations of these Seller Terms or Community Guidelines may result in:
- Listing removal or demotion
- Limits on selling features
- Withholding of payouts where legally and contractually appropriate
- Suspension or termination of seller or user accounts
- Reporting to payment partners, campuses, or authorities when required
9. Relationship to UNIMART
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Sellers are independent parties. Listing on UNIMART does not create employment, partnership, or joint-venture status. You are responsible for your own tax, licensing, and regulatory obligations.
10. Changes
We may update these Seller Terms as commerce features evolve. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued selling after that date constitutes acceptance.
